Event Coverage |
In the middle of May we went to Sonthofen which
is very close to Austria in the southern part of Germany.
A amazing Freestyle Motocross Event mixed with good music
and performances took place in the icehockey arena of
Sonthofen. The people there made a really good job. Marco
Roth has organized the FMX part of the event.
What is better than a great Freestyle Motocross show mixed
with good party and hot girls? Nothing ;-) We liked that
mix of sexappeal and Rock N' Roll. The entertainment was
packed with great acts. There were fashion shows with sweet
girls dancing on the stage during the breaks. The bars and
diner were perfect arranged with good and healthy food.

The FMX landing was a really smart construction. It was
built with pallets and after they put dirt on it. The landing
wasn't as big as a huge dirt landing, but it was big enough
for a 13 meters gap. Check the picture below to see how
they built the landing.

Invited were 5 Riders. Local Marco Roth himself and Sven
Schmid were the Riders from Germany. Marco organized the
FMX Event and also jumped the show. Sven is an upcoming
star in the German FMX scene. He is doing nice Hart Attack
Lookbacks and some huge Cliffhangers. Check www.schmid-fmx.de

Engeli, Rico Rinderknecht and Kuno Berner came over to show
their skills. Kuno Berner is a great rider. He's executing
his tricks with a smart combination of strength and smoothness.
Rico Rinderknecht (brother of Roger/BMX Pro) has also a
perfect style on the bike. His favorite moves are Cracknacs.
The last but not the least is Thamer Engeli. Thamer won
the FMX Contest @ Freestyle.ch 2002. He is doing the tricks
like a gymnastics guy. He is so quick, smooth and makes
perfect extensions.

The opening began with a sweet pyro show on the FMX landing.
TT and an other guy did the moderation of the show. After
the pyro show the rider presentation started. Every rider
rode into the arena and made a small interview with the
moderator.

Everybody showed a good performance at this event!
The spectators went wild when the guys made amazing Superman
Seatgrab *trains. (Train: the riders are jumping very close
in a row and doing tricks.)

The gap of the jumps was really small (only 13 meters distance),
but the riders didn't care. They did double Pendulums, Hart
Attacks etc. Especially Thamer Engli (SUI) did some real
big tricks with Tsumami, Rock Solid and a BMX Can.

with Freestyle Motocross riders in a good mood ... so see
