The first round of the German championship "DM open" took place in Schnaitheim near Aalen. Almost perfect weather and track conditions attracted a huge number of spectators to the circuit. At last back on track after three months of an injury break was Manuel Chittaro on his two - stroke Weltermann Yamaha.

Chittaro #5
After a really strong qualification he showed that he is ready again to fight for victories. Chittaro, the GP experienced Vincent Turpin, pole setter Daniel Siegl and Denis Schröter could be counted to the favourites for the overall victory.
The tension was high before the first championship race of the 2005 season got started. When the 1st of the two motos started, Andy Huber took the lead in front of Siegl. Huber was able to defend the lead for only two or three laps because Siegl passed him and Turpin as well.

Turpin #88 in front of Siegl #7
Until the chequered flag went down Huber dropped back to 9th position. Turpin and Siegl were the fastest riders on the track and could break away easily from the other guys. After around 12 minutes Turpin, after the first lap in 4th position, took the lead from Siegl and got a safe win. Siegl earned a safe 2nd place as well. A nice battle took place for 3rd position. All three riders Boller, Schröter and Chittaro came from middle rate starts and fought through the pack. After half race distance they were in the trace of Turpin and Siegl. Till the finish line these three riders had a close and hard fight which saw Boller at least in 3rd position followed by Schröter and Chittaro.

Andreas Boller #4
A good 6th place went to Sebastian Paasch. Mentionable was the riding from Sebastian Schöffel. He had bad luck in the second corner after the start and crashed. From last position his hunt ends short outside the points. Without his mistakes in a long corner which he missed three times, points would be reachable.

Dennis Schröter #12
In the second heat Andy Huber took the hole shot again and finished this time in respectable 5th position. In front the race was the same action like in the first moto. Turpin and Siegl dominated the race and finished clearly 1st and 2nd, respectively. Boller finished again in a strong 3rd position followed by Schröter. Alex Heu reached 6th place after a disappointing first race without any points. Unfortunately, Chittaro had a horrible crash at a small jump but big luck that he contracted no further injuries. The race was anyway over for him. A good performance was shown from Jan Zirfas, like Schöffel one of the youngest German riders of the participants, caught many points for 11th and 8th position in both races. Mentionable was the race of Paasch, from a start crash and last position he fights back to 11th place with really fast lap times.
